The thing that I enjoy most about performing on Disney on Ice is helping bring the Disney characters to life for all those that attend. What do you enjoy the most about performing on Disney on Ice? My go to warm up exercise is usually jumping rope. My preshow routine isn’t anything super exciting, though I do always make sure I get a good warmup in before stepping onto the ice. I have been skating since I was about two years old and have been performing for Disney on Ice for the last 5 years. How long have you been performing as a skater? Tell us all about the story My parents did indeed meet on the road while performing with Disney on Ice, my dad actually proposed to my mom on the ice during a show! To add to that, I was born while both of my parents were still touring with the show and spent about the first 6 months of my life “on the road”. I read that your parents met while performing with DISNEY ON ICE? I am fortunate enough to play the role of Kristoff from Frozen, a role that I have always wanted to play and feel like I connect really well with. We join Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy as they embark on a search for clues to help release Tinker Bell after Captain Hook tries to capture her magic. His parents met while they were performing for Disney on Ice long ago and now he is performing as part of the tour that’s traveling all across the country. Today, our guest is following the family line of skaters. We loved hearing the songs we knew by heart and seeing how certain characters would appear or how certain moments would translate into ice form.On this edition of THE INTERVUE, Disney on Ice brings its Mickey’s Search Party to the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax last week and families all over the DMV got their Disney magic back! You get a highlight of great moments with a different spin being on ice. It is fun to see a variety of characters vs a show based on one whole movie. Again, we saw a quick overview of the movie with a really good production of Let it Go. This was a pretty cool part of the show as the cars actually drove around on the ice.įrozen: Of course the most appropriate finale was Frozen. This story didn’t follow any of the movies, rather, Mickey and Minnie’s car broke down and the cars were doing what they could to help revive the car. (It is good to note at this point there was about a 20 minute intermission.)Ĭars: After that the gang came back out to introduce us to the next adventure, Cars. Again, we went through a very quick overview of the movie with all of the main characters including Ursula. The Little Mermaid: The second adventure took us under the sea for the Little Mermaid. While we enjoyed this part, it did seem to drag on slightly longer than needed. Toy Story: The first adventure was to Andy’s room from Toy Story where the audience is basically given a condensed version of the third movie in the series. In addition to seeing Mickey and the gang throughout, the show was broken up into four story segments: The particular show we saw was “Worlds of Enchantment”. There are several variations of Disney On Ice shows touring around the country. Enjoy Favorite Characters and Songs you Love (We can only imagine how many kids would be around on a Saturday afternoon performance!) Add on a pre show dinner and you have yourself a really well rounded date with a sprinkle of pixie dust!ģ. We also went on a Wednesday night which not only had cheaper tickets but also less crowds. But we don’t find that is the case at all. We have found that most people who talk about these shows see them as total kid events and wouldn’t think to go. This wasn’t our first time at a Disney On Ice show but it had been quite awhile. Earlier this week we were very excited to attend the opening night of “ Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment ” in our home town of Baltimore, MD.
